BIO
Minjae Shim is a combined M.S.-Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), Republic of Korea. He received his B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering and Information Technology with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Pukyong National University, Republic of Korea, in 2022. He is interested in developing BCIs for implementing interactions with avatars in virtual environments. Additionally, he wants to understand and decode the effects of tactile feedback on the brain during motor imagery. To this end, his current research interests include generating natural tactile feedback through electro-tactile stimulation and constructing feedback loops to enhance avatar embodiment in online BCIs.
